Like all Humanitas wines, something inspires the style we desire. In this case, it is my dog!!! No seriously, my dog 'Bear' is a Bernese Mountain Dog and is the friendliest, most giving and good natured animal on the face of the planet. When making our 2007 Chardonnay, this happy-go-lucky dog became the inspiration for what we wanted the wine to be. Our 2007 'Oak Free' Chardonnay from Monterey County is so very friendly, exceptionally giving, and something you'll want to have around all the time...just like my dog!
You will pick up all sorts of tree fruits such as apples, peaches, and pears in our 2007 Monterey 'Oak Free' Chardonnay. You should also pick up a hint of some tropical fruit...maybe a little pineapple...maybe a little guava...a smidge of banana. Yet the acid in this wine is crisp & bright, making an completely rewarding wine that is so easy to drink, goes well with just about every food and situation, yet has a complexity that seems to bring forward something new with every sip.
Founder of Humanitas, Judd Wallenbrock, always thinks of wine & how it pairs with food, music, people & situations in general. He finds this wine is perfect with a little Jack Johnson on the stereo while doing life's simple activities such as opening the mail, paying bills, or helping with his kids' homework.
Food-wise, this Chardonnay goes wonderfully with chicken quesadillas, cream pasta dishes, light & creamy cheeses...and certainly most any fruit.
We encourage you to find your favorite complement to this wine...we even like it all by itself!
